Day Tour Details
Birding Day Trips In Johannesburg, such as the Highveld and Wetlands, host a wide variety of bird species. This means exploring the regions south of Johannesburg guarantees a great day’s birding. Seeing over 100 bird species isn’t unheard of for a full-day birding tour.
Exploring the remarkably wild Suikerbosrand Nature reserve, we target species such as Marsh Owl, Red-throated Wryneck, Kalahari Scrub-Robin, Sentinal Rock Thrush, Red-winged Francolin and Orange-breasted Waxbill.
Once we’ve had our fill at Suikerbosrand, we head on over to the Marievale Bird Sanctuary. Marievale is hands down one of the most productive and unique birding sites in all of South Africa. Here we’ll target the likes of African Rail, Little Rush Warbler, Cape Shoveler, Blue-billed Teal, African Marsh Harrier and many more.
